Rangers are on the hunt for a new right-back and have had their opening salvo booted out for Bryan Reynolds. Rangers have reportedly seen a £2.2m transfer bid for right-back Bryan Reynolds booted out by Westerlo. But it's claimed the defender has given the Ibrox side the 'green light' in a bid to make the move happen. Danny Rohl is on the hunt for reinforcements at right-back having lost James Tavernier and Max Aarons from last season's squad – leaving Dujon Sterling as the only natural option in that position. Reports on Tuesday suggested they'd shown a 'concrete interest' in 24-year-old, who enjoyed an impressive season in the Juliper Pro League last term. Now it's been ramped up a notch. It is being reported the Ibrox side have gone to the table with an opening bid of €2.5m (£2.2m), but it's been swiftly rejected by the Belgian club who are 'unwilling to let him leave for that amount’. Reynolds has a year to run on his contract and is viewed as one of their key players. However, it's been added Reynolds has 'given Rangers the green light', and would prioritise a move Ibrox even if other clubs come to the table. The player's stance could back Westerlo into a difficult spot if the saga drags on, particularly since they run the risk of losing him for free in 12 months' time. Reynolds was not selected by Mauricio Pochettino for the USA's World Cup squad so he'll be available for talks immediately should Rangers see a second bid accepted. Rangers have also been linked with a move to bring Nathan Patterson back to Ibrox with an Everton exit for the right-back on the cards. The Scot, however, has been picked to go to the USA so that would likely need to wait until after the World Cup.
