Rangers fans are in hysterics after Celtic's record signing Kasper Hogh had a poor debut in their 1-0 victory over Dundee on Monday. The 25-year-old striker was brought in for £11million last month, on the back of a brilliant Champions League campaign. As a result, there is a hope that he can finally end the club's struggles up top, especially now that Daizen Maeda has left. However, against Dundee, the striker missed two glorious opportunities to open his Hoops account in what was a poor showing from the Denmark international. Rangers fans were quick to pick up on this uninspiring debut, and took to social media to mock Celtic and Hogh. Many Gers supporters now believe that this is a sign that the striker will turn out to be an expensive flop at Celtic Park. ## What happened? The hype surrounding Hogh's move to Celtic this summer was extremely high, and based on his form last season, this would have been of little surprise. The striker was key to Bodo/Glimt reaching the round of 16 of the Champions League before they were knocked out by Sporting CP. During this run, Hogh netted against the likes of Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan. As a result, when he arrived in the Scottish Premiership, there was no doubt a concern from the other clubs that he would go on to dominate the division. Therefore, when Hogh struggled to make any sort of positive impact against Dundee, Rangers fans were loving it. Many supporters have since taken to X, mocking the striker for his disappointing debut. ## Why it matters for Rangers The league standing is currently 7th in Premiership, 1 point, 0W-1D-0L from 1 games, recent form D. This poor showing from Celtic will give Rangers a boost in their title race, as they are currently 2 points behind leaders ST Mirren. ## What comes next? Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if the striker can bounce back this weekend, as Celtic prepare to travel to Kilmarnock. The next fixture for Rangers is vs Kilmarnock (away, 2026-12-26) (8th in the table). Currently sidelined are Connor Barron and José Cifuentes.
