Rangers could return the full 7,500 Broomloan allocation to Celtic fans next season, former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness said. The comment comes ahead of the 13 September Premier Sports Cup quarter‑final between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox.
Current Allocation
Wyness, who was CEO at Pittodrie from 2000 to 2004, told Football Insider that the 2,500‑seat allocation for Celtic supporters will probably remain in place for the upcoming match. He cited last season’s Scottish Cup clash, where violence erupted after Celtic’s penalty‑shootout win, as proof that a full allocation is unlikely.
Future Outlook
Wyness believes that a full Broomloan allocation could return in the 2025‑26 season, provided the 2026‑27 fixtures pass without large‑scale incidents. He added that the “rebuild” would require both clubs to keep the situation under control.

The Broomloan Road Stand holds 7,500 seats. For the 13 September game, Rangers will likely keep Celtic fans in the corner of the stand, the usual away‑fan area, which is not a pleasant experience for supporters.
