Rangers Football Club have completed their summer recruitment with seven new signings, all now established in first-team football, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The transfer window officially closed once the last of the group, Eva Hendle, arrived on a season-long loan from Chelsea in July.

Midfield and defence strengthened

Gry Boe Thrysøe, a 26-year-old Danish midfielder, signed as a free agent in July after a trial period, having spent five years with Old Dominion Lady Monarchs in the United States, where she started eighteen games and scored six goals in 2025. Leanne Crichton said Thrysøe "made her debut for the Light Blues during Champions League qualifying, starting both matches against SK Slavia Praha and Ajax in midfield as she featured in the European competition for the first time in her career." She has since started the club's last two SPWPL fixtures after appearing from the bench in the opening two league games.

Mijke Roelfsema, a 28-year-old Dutch defender, joined on 7 July from FC Nantes in France's Ligue 1, adding experience gathered at AaB Fodbold in Denmark, Treaty United in Ireland and Calgary Wild in Canada. She debuted in the 2-1 Champions League qualifying win over SK Slavia Praha at Broadwood and has kept clean sheets in both starts since, against Hearts and Motherwell.

New faces in wide areas

Bailley Collins, a 23-year-old winger, arrived as a free agent after leaving Motherwell, having previously helped Aberdeen reach a first-ever top-six SPWPL finish under Paul Brownlie. Collins scored twice on her league debut in a 4-1 win over Montrose and added another in a 3-0 win over Hearts.

Hannah Blake, the New Zealand international, joined from Durham after spells with Perth Glory and Adelaide United in Australia's A-League Women. Blake, who scored a hat-trick for her country against the Solomon Islands and has seventeen caps, netted her first Rangers goal with a chipped finish in the 3-0 win over Motherwell.

Kirsty Smith, the Scotland international right-back with more than sixty caps, signed a two-year deal in early July after leaving Nottingham Forest. Smith spent eleven years at Hibernian, winning back-to-back domestic doubles in 2016 and 2017, and also played for Manchester United and West Ham United before her move north.

Goalkeeper and loan arrival

Shu Ohba, the 24-year-old Japanese goalkeeper, took the number eighteen jersey after joining from Tokyo Verdy Beleza in Japan's WE League. Ohba has started the last three league matches and helped Rangers keep clean sheets in each. Eva Hendle, who was part of England's Under-20s squad at this year's World Cup in Poland alongside club teammate May Cruft, scored on her Rangers debut in the 4-1 win over Montrose.

Across the club, the senior side sit second in the Premiership on 13 points from six games, five points behind leaders Celtic, having won four of their last five to sit on a four-game winning run. Rangers beat St Mirren 1-0 on 9 September through Bojan Miovski's stoppage-time finish, assisted by Ryan Naderi, who had also scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over Motherwell four days earlier. The senior team's next fixture is at home to Dundee, currently sixth, on 30 December.
