Rangers' Brazilian star Jefte has spoken about his time at Ibrox, where he made over £5 million in just over 15 months. The 22-year-old full-back was sold to Palmeiras for £6 million, a rare triumph in player trading for the Scottish club. Jefte credits Rangers for helping him grow as a player and person, saying he experienced and learned a lot during his time at the club. He also praised the club's welcoming atmosphere, saying his teammates made him feel relaxed and at home. Jefte suffered a setback early in his Rangers career when he was unfairly sent off at Hampden in a Champions League qualifying defeat to Dynamo Kiev. However, he recovered from that setback to play an incredible 52 times in the campaign. Jefte believes that Rangers' former manager Philippe Clement deserved more time in the Ibrox hotseat before he was sacked. Clement was fired in February 2025 after losing at Ibrox to St Mirren, which followed an embarrassing Scottish Cup defeat at home to Queen's Park. Jefte enjoyed working with a club legend, Barry Ferguson, who took interim charge after Clement's departure. Jefte is now back in his homeland with Palmeiras, where he won the Brazilian title in March. He says he will always have great affection for Rangers, who gave him important continuity to his career and helped him grow as a player and person.
