Latest Injuries
Rangers have been dealing with a number of injuries throughout the season. Here are some of the latest developments:
- Jack Leiter has undergone right ankle arthroscopic surgery and is expected to return possibly late 2026 after throwing a live batting practice session on August 3.
- Jakob Junis suffered a left adductor strain, which kept him out until August 13. He pitched one inning in the July 28 game at the Rays but reported some soreness afterward.
- Kyle Higashioka landed on the injured list with a right flexor strain on July 21 and his return is still uncertain.
- Jose Corniell also had a right flexor strain, throwing 35 pitches in one inning on July 20 before being placed on the injured list. Further evaluation will be conducted after scans.
- Jalen Beeks suffered lower back spasms and elected to have surgery, missing the remainder of the 2026 season after his elbow flared up during rehab.
- Michael Helman broke multiple bones in his right hand on June 13 and will receive additional X-rays/scans upon returning home.
- Danny Jansen experienced a right forearm strain, showing signs of elbow inflammation after a start in St. Louis on June 1.
- Robert Garcia was placed on the injured list with left rotator cuff inflammation, examined for shoulder soreness on April 20.
- Carter Baumler had a setback in his right intercostal strain recovery and has been shut down after reaching 97 mph during a rehab appearance.
Latest Transactions
Recent transactions have seen several players move in and out of the Rangers' roster:
- On August 7, LHP Jordan Montgomery was activated from the 60-day injured list, while RHP Nolan Kingham was designated for assignment.
- On August 5, LHP Cody Bradford returned from the 60-day IL. Meanwhile, LHP MacKenzie Gore was placed on paternity leave.
- On August 4, 3B Cody Freeman was activated from the 10-day IL and optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
- On August 3, the Rangers acquired LHP Adam Macko in a trade with the Blue Jays for 2B Josh Smith and RHP Josh Stephan. Macko was then optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
