Ryan Naderi is set for a Czech Republic call-up after his impressive start to life at Rangers. The 23-year-old forward has forced his way into the starting lineup and is expected to feature in manager Santi Denia's squad for the extended break later this month.
Naderi has contributed three goals and three assists in all competitions for the Light Blues. He played a part in the recent victories over Motherwell, St Mirren and Celtic, including providing the assist for Bojan Miovski's late winner against St Mirren. Born in Dresden to a Czech mother and a Bulgarian father, he has now committed his international future to the Czech Republic.
His potential selection comes as Rangers manage a busy period. The club sits second in the Premiership with 13 points from six games, five points behind leaders Celtic. They have been dealing with early-season injuries to forwards Youssef Chermiti and top scorer Lawrence Shankland, who has three goals this term. Naderi's emergence has been timely, as has the integration of fellow summer signing Kim Min-su, who has also received his first senior national team call-up.
Rangers management are said to be proud of their recruitment, having invested around €16 million in Naderi and Kim over the last two windows. The club hopes both players return fully fit from their international duties, with several other Rangers players also set to be away.
If selected, Naderi could feature for Czechia in Nations League matches against Spain, Croatia and England.
