Rangers are looking to sign former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy as a free agent. The striker left Cremonese after spending one season in Italy and is available this transfer window. Vardy has vast Premier League experience after making history with Leicester. The former England international could undoubtedly be a valuable addition up north, just like Jermain Defoe.

With Derek McInnes in search of a new striker after Youssef Chermiti's injury, the Englishman's name has been suggested as an option to bolster the Gers' attack. Ex-Scottish attacker Gordon Dalziel believes that if the finances made sense, the Glaswegian outfit should take a gamble on Vardy. The centre-forward may still have what it takes to consistently contribute goals for the Govan side, at least for the 2026-27 campaign.
